HARDENER JA-950

APPLICATIONS

• Hardener for 2 pack type of ink.
• To improve the adhesion and properties of evaporative drying type of ink.

CHARACTERISTICS

• As JA-950 does not yellow, printed matters can be used for outdoor uses.
• Reactivity of JA-950 is lower than that of JA-960, which means longer pot life.
• JA-950 forms the ink film with more flexibility and better adhesion than JA-960.

HOW TO USE

1. Add JA-950 to the ink by 5-15% and stir. (Standard ratio is 10%)
2. Add thinner and sir well.

CURING TIME

• 25°C(77°F) : 5-7 days
• 80°C(176°F) : 120 minutes
• 100°C(212°F) : 60 minutes
• 120°C(248°F) : 30 minutes

POT LIFE

25°C(77°F) : 4-8 hours

PRECAUTION

1. As the reactivity is lower than JA-960, heat drying is preferable. The higher the drying temperature is, the better the properties become.
2. When fast curing is required, add accelerator JA-E11 by 1-3% to the mixture of ink and JA-950. Curing time shortens to half or to quarter. Pot life also becomes shorter.
3. Conditions for printing must be decided according to the instructions of each ink series. Pre-test is essential.
4. Ink can be used for some time after the pot life. However properties and gloss becomes poorer. Avoid using the mixture after pot life.
5. Hardener becomes solid by humidity even before added to the ink. Close the container tightly after use, and use it up on the same day the container is opened. Shelf life of one year is for the unopened condition.
6. There are two more type of hardeners. One is high-viscosity version, JA-950H, and the other is more flexible version, JA-940.
