9300 SERIES HIPET INK is two-component type of urethane ink designed for polyester film and polycarbonate.
HIPET INK is suitable for heat molding and insert molding. Printed ink film is tough and flexible as well as resistant to heat.
The heat resistant plastics such as polyester film and polycarbonate, primed metal, thermo-setting resin, glass and aluminum.
Mix the ink with Hardener and accelerator at the following ratio.
Dilute the mixture with Tetron Thinner. Use PC THINNER for polycarbonate. As there are fast drying, standard drying, slow drying and retadar types in thinner, choose the best type depending on the environmental temperature and size of the printing matters.
The pot life of the mixture is approximately 1 to 4 hours at 20°C(68°F).
Heat drying at 100°C(212°F) for 20 to 60 minutes. As the curing time changes depending on the amount of the Hardeners and the viscosity of the mixture, it is recommended to pre-test to decide drying time.
Use the photo stencil. Use VINYL CLEANING THINNER for washing up.
Standard 15 colors. 1 kg can
Print above mixture on PET film, and dry at 100°C(212°F) for 30 min. The following tests were performed on the printed material.
TEST ITEMS | TEST METHODS | RESULTS |
---|---|---|
Adhesion | Cross hatch peeling test | 100/100 Passed. |
Hardness | JIS K5400 8.4 Pencil hardness | 2H-3H |
Impact resistance | JIS K5400 8.3.2. Du Pont Impact tester, diameter 1/2", 500g, 50cm. |
No cracks. No peeling off |
Abrasion resistance | 10,000 double rubs with 500-gram-load with No.3 cotton swab |
No change in appearance Adhesion unchanged |
Solvent resistance | 50 rubs with ethanol. | Passed. |
Heat resistance | 110°C(230°F) for 48 hours | Passed. |
Coldness resistance | -30°C(-22°F) for 48 hours | Passed. |
Alkali resistance | Immersion in 5% NaOH for 24 hours | Blushing occurs. |
Acid resistance | Immersion in 5% H2SO4 for 24 hours | Passed |
Weathering resistance | Outdoor exposure at 45 degrees to the south | No change for more than 2 years |
The following mixing ratio is recommended depending on the purposes.
Ink film becomes harder than 4H with this mixture. As the toughness of the ink film is spoiled, good adhesion might not be obtained on some substrates.
Although ink film with excellent flexibility can be obtained, solvent resistance is slightly spoiled.
