JELCON RIP SERIES
(UV MASKING INK)
INTRODUCTIONS
JELCON RIP SERIES is removable from almost all kinds of plastics, metal and glass. RIP INK is suitable as partial masking for coating or as temporary protective film.
TYPE OF INKS
- RIP-2A BLUE : For thick film. High viscosity. Good flexibility.
- RIP-1C BLUE : For thin film. Low viscosity. Good solvent resistance.
CHARACTERISTIC
- As the ink film is tough, removal is easy and no marks are left.
- As 100% is non volatile, RIP is low odored and suitable for thick coating.
- The removal is not ill influenced by humidity or heat.
HOW TO USE
- The inks are provided in ready-to-use condition. Stir well before use.
- Recommended stencil
RIP-2A BLUE |
Coarser meshes/inch than T-200. The thicker the film is, the easier the removal is. The film thickness of 20-25 microns by T-150 is recommended. |
RIP-1C BLUE |
Finer meshes than T-250. When the ink film is thick, it cracks easily when removed. |
- Use VINYL CLEANING THINNER for washing up.
- When other ink is printed on RIP SERIES, be sure to choose solvent based ink. Forced drying is necessary.
CURING CONDITIONS
- Lamp power 120W/cm, one metal halide lamp.
- Distance of irradiation : 10cm (focus distance)
- Conveyor speed : 4-12m/min. Standard speed is 8m/min.
(Integrated quantity of light is 200-600mJ/cm²)
HOW TO REMOVE
Physical method should be taken for removal.
- Lift the edge of the ink film by nail and remove it slowly.
- Attach the adhesive tape to the edge of the ink film and scratch the edge. Then lift the adhesive tape and remove the ink film slowly.
- Attach the adhesive film all over the printed surface and scratch the edge. Then lift the adhesive film and remove the ink film slowly.B
Printers are advised to choose one of these three methods. Method 3 is the most suitable for RIP-1C.

PRECAUTIONS
- Please refer to literature "UV INK" for general precautions.
- Please refer to MSDS before use.
- If the substrate is well treated PET film, removal becomes difficult.
- Be sure to do trial print before commercial run to confirm that the product fits the purposes.
